What we are — and what we are not
We are an index, not a news wire, opinion outlet, or original journalism publisher. Every fact we list is attributed to its original publication. citations.press makes those facts easier to find, verify, and cite — for journalists, search engines, and AI assistants. We do not guarantee that any third party will cite or rank our pages.
How the index works
- Extract. Quantified facts are identified in cached articles and press releases — each bound to who said it and the number they cited.
- Review. Editors verify source clarity, attribution, and the verbatim excerpt before anything is published. Nothing goes live automatically.
- Index. Approved facts publish with a citation-ready excerpt, a link to the original article, structured schema markup, and machine-readable exports.

Human moderation
Every citation enters the queue as pending. Only items marked approved appear on the homepage, article pages, and in /citations.json. Editors may edit, reject, or remove entries at any time. Brand submissions are always disclosed on the site.

- No. We are a citation index. We extract and structure quantified facts from named publications and link every entry back to its original source. We do not report original news or present ourselves as the claimant.

- Human editors review every pending citation. Automated extraction assists discovery, but nothing appears on the public site or in machine-readable feeds until an editor approves it.

- Brands may submit press releases for indexing. Extracted facts enter the same editorial queue and, if approved, are clearly labelled Brand submission on the site.
