A Bannockburn shop has had its licence suspended after selling alcohol to a 16-year-old who was working undercover for police.

Hillpark Stores was caught in January selling drink to the girl during a sting organised by the Bannockburn community policing team.

A member of staff was charged for supplying alcohol to the underage girl.

The store's licence has now been suspended for three months.

Police had sent a report on the shop to the procurator fiscal and the licensing board.

Pc Janet Daly said the community policing team was committed to tackling underage drinking and the anti-social behaviour often associated with it.
