Aldi confirms major change to opening hours
Aldi has revealed its opening hours for the upcoming August bank holiday. Stores across England and Wales will be open from 8am until 8pm on bank holiday Monday, August 31, while stores in Scotland and Northern Ireland will operate their usual opening hours. Opening times can vary by location, so customers are encouraged to check the Aldi website for their local store’s hours before travelling.
Aldi has also given a crucial tip for those wanting to avoid the crowds. For shoppers hoping to avoid the busiest periods, Aldi said that data from last year’s August bank holiday weekend shows that 8am to 9am and 7pm to 8pm were the quietest times to shop.

Rachel Geary, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “Whether shoppers are stocking up for a barbecue, getting together with family and friends or picking up some last-minute essentials, we want to make their bank holiday shop as easy as possible.
“For anyone looking to beat the bank holiday rush, heading to stores first thing in the morning or later in the evening is likely to mean a quieter shop.”
Aldi recently cut the price of 330 products, including fresh and frozen food, cupboard staples and household essentials. The latest reductions are backed by a £100million investment and mean Aldi has now cut the price of more than 1,000 products this year, the supermarket giant said.
Aldi also announced earlier this summer that it is trialling closing select UK stores an hour early at 9pm instead of 10pm, Monday through Saturday.
An Aldi spokesperson said: “As the UK’s cheapest supermarket, our commitment to customers is that they will always pay the lowest possible prices every time they shop with us.
“Our efficient business model means that we are always looking for new ways to pass on even greater savings to Aldi shoppers.”
