HYDERABAD: Madhapur police booked the son of Andhra Pradesh Rajya Sabha MP and Jana Sena functionary Lingamaneni Ramesh for rash and negligent driving after his Aston Martin allegedly killed a 26-year-old mall employee near Inorbit Mall on Aug 16.According to the FIR, Bharati Mukhi, a salesgirl at the Lifestyle store in the mall, was crossing the road around 3pm when she was hit by the speeding car driven by 21-year-old Lingamaneni Sanjush.She sustained a severe head injury.

The complaint, lodged by Lifestyle manager, states that Bharati and her colleague had gone to a nearby hotel to collect food and were returning to the mall when the accident occurred.She was rushed to Apollo Hospital by Sanjush in the same car, where doctors declared her dead.Police have registered a case under section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) which pertains to causing death by a rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide and provides for imprisonment of up to five years and a fine.Madhapur assistant commissioner of police Ch Sridhar said no arrest has been made in the case as the offence is bailable.All procedures followed in case, says Cyberabad CPWe have issued notices to the accused.

There is no negligence on the part of the police in the case,” Sridhar claimed. Police said Sanjush tested negative for alcohol and drugs. Sanjush is listed as director in Black Ridge Energy and Capital Energy.He studied computer science at the University of Texas at Dallas, US. An email sent to Sanjush and Lingamaneni Ramesh seeking a response remained unanswered.

The vehicle involved in the accident is registered in the name of Honer Prime Housing.
