Angel Reese said she had a “very tough” night replaying her missed game-winning layup attempt in the Dream’s 95-91 overtime home loss to the Fever on Sunday.

Reese reflected on the play after the Dream’s 97-82 road win over the Aces on Tuesday.

“Yeah, I knew how much my team needed me. Like I said last game, it was very tough for me. I didn’t sleep, and the competitor in me wanted to win that game so bad,” Reese said after a reporter noted that she stepped up and took on the defensive pressure of guarding Aces star A’ja Wilson — especially with Atlanta center Brionna Jones out with a leg injury.

“I replayed that play so many times, but I’m like: Why would I let one moment dictate everything else that I have going on that is positive?

“So just being able to show up again for my team. It would have been negative for me not to come out tonight and just bounce back, and I knew they expected it from me — so just being able to do it obviously against [Wilson], trying to deflect as many passes as I can. I mean, she’s going to get her shots up, of course. But just knowing my spots and how great I am defensively to put pressure on her.”

Reese tallied 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals against against the Aces following Sunday’s letdown moment.

The three-time All-Star missed a game-winning put-back with three seconds left in regulation after an air ball by Dream guard Rhyne Howard on Sunday.

The Fever secured the win in overtime behind Caitlin Clark’s 26 points, and she was captured smirking after Reese’s miss.

Reese recorded her 23rd double-double in the loss.
