Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky has signed an improved contract with the Premier League club.

The 23-year-old had a rollercoaster first full season with Spurs, memorably being substituted just 17 minutes into their Champions League last-16 tie at Atletico Madrid after conceding three goals.

But after Roberto de Zerbi came in as Spurs manager, Kinsky played the final seven games of the Premier League season as they avoided relegation.

Kinsky said: "It's been a real journey to get here and a nice story already, and I'm looking forward to what lies ahead over the next months and years."

Tottenham signed Kinsky from Slavia Prague for about £12.5m in January 2025 on a contract running to 2031.

Against Atletico in March the Czech made two bad errors early on as the Spanish side romped to a 5-2 win.

He was hauled off by interim manager Igor Tudor and replaced by Guglielmo Vicario.

At the time, former Premier League goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel told CBS Sports: "Tudor has completely destroyed his career. I feel really sorry for him.

"When his name is mentioned in the future, the whole football world will remember this moment."

He could now start the new season as first choice with Vicario linked with a return to Italy and Inter Milan.

Tottenham boss De Zerbi said:, external "Toni was outstanding over the final seven games of the season and a key part of what we achieved in that period.

"He has earned this new contract, not only with his performances but also his professionalism and desire to improve.

"We have huge belief in what Toni can become. He is still young, has enormous potential and I know that Spurs is the perfect place for him to continue to develop into one of the best goalkeepers in Europe."

Spurs have not revealed the length or terms of Kinsky's new deal.
