Appeal due over paid leave for offshore workers

An appeal against a ruling that offshore oil and gas workers are not entitled to extra paid leave is due to get under way.

The Employment Appeal Tribunal reversed an earlier decision on paid holidays.

The RMT union signalled its intention to appeal to the Court of Session in Edinburgh.

Employers said shift patterns meant offshore workers could have six months off a year. Unions claimed workers lose out on 28 days of annual paid leave.
