Police have appealed for witnesses to a road crash on Sunday afternoon, after which a man died in hospital.

South Wales Police said a white Ford Connect panel van went off the A4073 at the Mountain View estate roundabout, Tonyrefail, Rhondda Cynon Taf.

The 49-year-old man driving the van was taken to Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant where he was pronounced dead.

The crash happened at around 1245 BST. The road was shut for about two hours.
