Ariana Grande Matches Elvis Presley’s Singles Record
Ariana Grande scores her milestone twenty-fifth top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 as “Petal,” the title track from her new album of the same name debuts at No. 4. The achievement moves Grande ahead of Beyoncé’s 24 solo top 10s and into a tie with Elvis Presley.
Ariana Grande came very close to sitting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with two different tracks. In fact, the two most popular cuts from her new album Petal – which itself debuts at No. 1 on the charts – both appear near the summit of the ranking of the most-consumed tunes in the United States. This frame, though, neither of them were able to best Ella Langley’s historic smash “Choosin’ Texas.”
As Grande collects a new top 10 smash on the most competitive songs tally in the nation, she moves up on a historic ranking, breaking a tie with one of the most successful female stars of all time and matching a rock and roll pioneer.
“Petal,” the title track and second single from Grande’s new album, launches at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its arrival marks the singer’s milestone twenty-fifth top 10 hit on the competitive songs roster.

As Grande reaches 25 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, she breaks out of a tie with Beyoncé, who has racked up 24 as a soloist. That figure does not include the 10 top 10s Destiny’s Child scored throughout the years that girl group was together.
Grande is now on the same level as Elvis Presley, who likewise earned a milestone 25 massive singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
While Grande and Presley are tied with the same number of top 10s on the Billboard Hot 100, their paths to accumulating those totals have been very different. Presley gathered his smashes during a time when songs did not routinely debut in the highest region, while Grande frequently sees new singles begin their runs in the tier — and has repeatedly launched tracks at No. 1.
It must also be noted that a good portion of Presley’s output predated the introduction of the Billboard Hot 100. Some of his earliest hits, including those that helped turn him into the superstar he remained throughout his career, either never appeared on the ranking or arrived later, when they weren’t as hot as they had once been. Had the tally been introduced many years earlier, Presley may sit in a loftier position on the all-time roster.
As “Petal” opens in fourth place, Grande sends the album’s lead single, “Hate That I Made You Love Me” – which became her tenth champion when it debuted at No. 1 earlier this year – back toward the top space. The smash rises from No. 8 to No. 2 this frame.
All 12 tracks featured on Petal land on the Billboard Hot 100, but the ones that don’t settle into the top 10 sit beneath No. 21. “Kiss Me” leads that group, kicking off its time in that position.
Grande could not topple Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” even during her huge week, as the country smash holds steady at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a seventeenth frame.
“Choosin’ Texas” breaks out of a tie with Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day,” Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” and “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber, all of which stopped ruling after 16 periods in charge. Langley’s hit now stands alone as the fourth-longest-running No. 1 in the history of the ranking.
Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” leads with 22 frames at No. 1, while “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” both stopped dominating after 19 turns in the spotlight.
