Ariana Grande Was Just Spotted With One of Her Exes on Her Birthday After Shock Ethan Slater Split

Mere weeks after her shocking split from her former Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, fans just spotted Ariana Grande out and about with one of her exes (and on her birthday at that)! If you guessed that she was seen out with Ricky Álvarez, then you’re right!

In case you missed it, the Oscar-nominated actress and Álvarez were spotted grabbing lunch together in Austin, Texas, on Friday, June 26. (Yes, on her birthday!) And according to sources at People, “They’ve been hanging out recently.”

And the night before, she changed the lyric about him during her Eternal Sunshine tour. During her son “Thank U, Next,” she says, “Wrote some songs about Ricky, now I listen and laugh.” But for her show on the 25th, she changed it to: “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now they kinda slap.”

(She previously wrote the song “Moonlight” about him, and many theorize the songs “True Love” and “Knew Better / Forever Boy” were about him!)

The outing and the lyric change truly have everyone convinced they may have rekindled something.

For those who don’t know, Grande and her former backup dancer Alvarez dated from Jun 2015 to Jul 2016. They first met in 2014 when he officially became her backup dancer. While the relationship was short, it was a favorite (and we still don’t know to this day why they broke up)!

Years later, in 2018, they became pals again, and the romance rumors started again in 2026.
