Four men have been arrested by police investigating violence at a football match between Burton Albion and Grimsby Town last month.

Two Grimsby men, aged 21 and 43, have been charged with public order offences relating to the match on 8 May.

A 34-year-old Cleethorpes man has been charged with obstructing police and pitch encroachment.

Another man, aged 32 and from Grimsby, has been charged with attempted criminal damage and pitch encroachment.

All four men have been granted bail and are due to appear at Burton Magistrates' Court on 7 July, Staffordshire Police said.

The arrests come after 22 other people, all from the Grimsby area, were arrested in and around the Pirelli Stadium in Burton and on trains returning to Lincolnshire after the match.

Staffordshire said said nine people of the 22 had already been dealt with by the courts, while 13 remained on police bail.

Grimsby Town were relegated from League Two after their 3-0 defeat on 8 May.
