At least three dead and two injured in Idaho shooting

At least three people have died in a "active shooter incident" in Idaho.

The fatal shooting near US burger restaurant In-N-Out, in Twin Falls, Idaho, started around 2.30pm local time (9.30pm BST).

A further two people have been injured in the shooting, according to Twin Falls spokesman Josh Palmer.

Of the number injured, Mr Palmer added: "We expect that number to increase."

The suspected shooter is now dead, Chief of Twin Falls Police Matthew Hicks said in a press conference, but the exact number of people killed is still unconfirmed.

"We are working trying to ascertain his identity and the motivations behind that and we'll be able to figure that out in the coming days," Mr Hicks added.

A number of people are now receiving care at a local hospital - but the exact number is still unclear as family are still being notified, the police chief said.

Video seen by GB News shows a man, who appears to be holding a gun, walking around a car park.

Mr Hicks praised emergency services, who performed at the "highest level", describing it as one of the most "chaotic scenes" they will ever have to face.

Witnesses of the horror shooting are now being taken to the Twin Falls Country Courthouse to give statements.

Mr Hicks said: "We have literally hundreds of people that were - in some way shape or form - in the area of this restaurant at the time, that are being interviewed right now."

Twin Falls shut down several roads and bridges in response to the horror shooting.

The Idaho city is the largest in a 100 -mile area and has a population of over 50,000.

The shelter-in-place order for the area has now been lifted and roads are now being reopened as the investigation continues.

Police have advised the public to stay away from the restaurant, which is a shopping area with a movie theater complex and other major retailers.

Magic Valley Mall nearby has closed, with people inside told to stay in place, according to a public safety employee there.

Governor of Idaho Brad Little said he was keeping Twin Falls in his prayers and urged residents to follow directions from law enforcement.

Senator Mike Crapo said he was monitoring the news and urged Idahoans to report suspicious activity immediately.

The Attorney General of Idaho Raul R Labrador said he was praying for everyone in the city.

"If you're in the area, please listen to local authorities and stay away from In-N-Out and the surrounding streets so first responders can do their jobs," he added.
