BBC viewers left fuming over Wimbledon coverage as they issue furious complaints
Tennis enthusiasts tuned in eagerly to watch the opening day of Wimbledon on Monday. Thousands of passionate fans will descend upon SW19 over the forthcoming fortnight as the Wimbledon Championships get underway for another thrilling year. There is lots to look forward to this time around, with American icon Serena Williams set to make a sensational singles comeback after a four-year absence from the sport. She will also revive her legendary doubles partnership alongside her elder sister, Venus.
British hero Andy Murray is also back at the venue of one of his greatest career achievements, this time as part of Jack Draper's coaching setup. Novak Djokovic continues his pursuit of a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title, where he faces fierce competition from reigning World Number One Jannik Sinner. Isa Guha returned to front the BBC's early morning coverage of the tournament on Monday (June 29), with viewers wasting little time in voicing familiar grievances, reports the Mirror.

A number of fans were quick to express their frustration at the limited viewing options on BBC iPlayer, with one user posting on X (formerly Twitter): "Why can't I choose the court I want on BBC iPlayer?"
Another commented: "Poor BBC coverage of Wimbledon already. Watching Gill v Jodar on the red button and they switch to another match yet say it's available on iPlayer and BBC2. Surely if you pick an advertised match on iPlayer it's not too much to expect to stick with that match."
A third remarked: "It's a real pain in the neck that they don't have the red button for Wimbledon so you can choose who you want to watch. You would think BBC would have been better than this!"
The grievances kept coming, as another viewer wrote: "Am I the only one watching Wimbledon right now that thinks the camera quality is poor? I'm watching on BBC Two HD right now and it just looks fuzzy around letters and not clear and sharp." Someone else declared: "I hate the BBC so much during Wimbledon that I don't pay my Licence for a fortnight."
Meanwhile, another put forward a plea, stating: "An early plea (which will undoubtedly be ignored). Could we please NOT have adverts for BBC programmes (which we have already watched) during the change overs at #Wimbledon."
This follows a touching tribute paid to Carol Kirkwood, who will not be returning to present the weather forecast at Wimbledon, after her departure from BBC Breakfast in April.
At the start of today's sporting coverage, Isa said: "Now, this is normally the time in the show that we head across to Carol Kirkwood for a British weather update, especially here in the sunshine.
"It would have been great to see her, but after 28 years on BBC Breakfast, Carol has moved on. So, we wish you all the best, Carol. Hopefully you've got your feet up on the sofa with a cup of tea to enjoy the tennis this week."
Announcing the presenters who would be stepping in for Carol, the presenter continued: "Of course, there isn't one presenter who could replace Carol, so we're going to have a selection of BBC weather's finest over the two weeks, including today with Matt Taylor."
