A cult Australian frozen yoghurt brand has landed on the UK high street this week. On Thursday, Yo Chi opened its first ever UK venue on Notting Hill Gate, London, with thousands of people turning up to try the self-serve frozen yogurt and açaí on opening day.

It sells nine signature frozen yogurt flavours, including vanilla, salted butterscotch, coconut and açaí, which can be adorned with more than 30 toppings, including 'choc chunk' cookie cake and mini mochis. Yo Chi says there are thousands of combinations to choose from. You can add as much as you like, however, keep in mind that you pay for your dessert based on weight and it could get pricey, at £2.70 per 100g.

Yo-Ch said the opening comes after demand from UK customers to launch this side of the world. The first visitors Martha and Olive queued for more than five and a half hours to try the snack, arriving at 6:30am before the midday launch.

They said: "We’re huge fans of Yo-Chi so when we heard it was opening here in London we knew we had to be here first and it’s been absolutely worth it. The energy has been amazing, the team has been so welcoming and the yogurt is incredible!"

Milly, who travelled down from Manchester, added: "I tried Yo-Chi in Noosa last year and have been raving about it ever since, so I just had to come down for launch day."

Oliver Allis, co-owner and chief brand officer at Yo-Chi, said: "We are so happy to bring a new positive, inclusive, non-alcohol hangout spot for all ages, and even happier that Londoners feel the same way."

Spanning more than 2,000 sq ft across two floors, the Notting Hill Gate spot has space for 120 customers. Opening hours are Sunday–Wednesday 10am–10pm, and Thursday–Saturday 10am-11pm.
