The worst of the heatwave might be over, but that doesn't mean summer dressing is. Shorts, skirts, and loose dresses are all still firmly in our June outfit rotation, but now (with the temperature 10 degrees cooler than it has been), we are slightly more inclined to reach for denim than we have been this week.
Jorts have been a summer staple for a few years now, so it's safe to say they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. However, the wider silhouette of Bermuda denim shorts has been a marked trend of 2026. The ample fabric sits loose around the knees, allowing for a much more breathable version of a typical denim short, making them a perfect summer outfit option.
This £16 pair from Primark are in a gorgeous light wash, making them the go-to bottoms option for any casual outing. Think picnics in the park, or trips to the beach - these shorts are the do-it-all wardrobe hero that will help you look put together no matter the occasion.
And the great thing about denim? It's super easy to dress up. Whilst it's typically a more casual fabric, all the cotton material needs is a pair of heels and a cute sparkly number on top, *et voila*! You are ready to hit the town. Don some matching accessories in the form of a little shoulder bag and some sunnies, and you're no longer out for a picnic but ready to get a glass of vino with the girls.
Whilst you can't deny how versatile the classic blue hue is, there is also a slightly more elevated cream option, if that's more your style. We can *so* imagine rocking the cream pair in the office with a pair of kitten heels and oversized blazer - chic, yet still weather and occasion appropriate.
If the Primark Bermuda shorts aren't to your taste, there are plenty of other options currently on the high street. Here are some of our faves...
