A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a collision with a car near Forfar in Angus.

The crash happened on the Letham to Kingsmuir road near Lownie Farm at about 1830 BST on Tuesday, police said.

The 37-year-old male motorcyclist, on a black Honda VFR, collided with a silver Vauxhall Corsa being driven by a learner, accompanied by a driving instructor.

The motorcyclist was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.

The occupants of the Corsa were uninjured.

Tayside Police have appealed to witnesses to contact them.
