A fire which badly damaged a house in Birmingham is being treated as arson.

About 25 firefighters tackled the fire in Shenley Hill, Northfield, at about 2230 BST on Saturday. Initial reports had suggested people may be trapped.

A fire service spokesman said no-one had been hurt or injured in the incident, but confirmed the fire was deliberate.

West Midlands Police and forensic investigators are searching the scene, he said.
