A site where four people were shot at an urban music event is still closed a week after the incident.

Three men and a woman were injured early on Sunday 13 June at Space 2 in Digbeth, Birmingham.

Factory Events, which programmes events and is separate from the Custard Factory, said Saturday night's closure was partly to give itself "some space".

Councillors have agreed not to revoke a licence for Space 2 but there will be a full review on 12 July.

Simon Jones, Factory Events managing director, said: "The security of the guests and staff and the general public using the Custard Factory are a real priority.

"We decided to voluntarily close the club just to give ourselves some space and to carry out a full review of our systems and procedures and also to give the staff a bit of downtime just so we can just regroup."

Mr Jones has denied claims there was inadequate security at the event last weekend.

Three men suffered gunshot wounds to their legs and a woman was shot in the foot.

West Midlands Police, which was called shortly after 0100 BST on 13 June, has said Space 2 is a separately-managed licensed premises within the wider auspices of the Custard Factory.

Factory Events has said it is a tenant of the Custard Factory and has 15 years of history of putting on entertainment in the area, but there is no financial/business relationship beyond the tenancy.
