Boy, 7, fatally injured in Derbyshire car crash

A seven-year-old boy died and his mother was seriously hurt in a car crash in Derbyshire.

They were travelling in a Citroen C2 which collided with a Mitsubishi on Intakes Lane, Turnditch, on Thursday.

The boy, who has not yet been named, had to be cut free from the car and was airlifted to hospital, but later died from his injuries.

His mother, aged 37 and from Ashbourne, is being treated in the Royal Derby Hospital.
