British Grand Prix practice, qualifying and race times, plus weather

Round 10 of the Formula 1 season is the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, which is also the fourth sprint event of the year, from 3-5 July.

Mercedes' George Russell took victory in round nine in Austria and was joined by Red Bull's Max Vertappen and team-mate Kimi Antonelli on the podium.

Teenager Antonelli maintains his lead at the top of the drivers' championship, with Russell's win lifting him back up to second place and 40 points off the Italian.

Saturday's 17-lap sprint race gets under way at 12:00 BST, with the main 52-lap grand prix on Sunday starting at 15:00.

For those of you lucky enough to be going to Silverstone, it should be a mostly dry and warm weekend - not as hot as the heatwave of the previous week.

Friday is expected to be sunny with a gentle breeze and a high temperature of 25C, while Saturday's sprint race and qualifying will be slightly cloudier with a moderate breeze but the same temperature.

For the race on Sunday, it is back to clear skies and a gentle breeze with temperatures reaching 26C.

Silverstone returns to hosting a sprint event for the first time since the format was introduced in 2021.

Sprint qualifying has three sessions, where now the six slowest cars are knocked out from the first two - like normal qualifying.

These sessions, known as SQ1, SQ2 and SQ3, last 12, 10 and eight minutes respectively.

This will make up the grid for the sprint race.

Only the top eight finishers score points, with eight points awarded for first place to one point for eighth, which will get added to the overall drivers' championship standings.

Following Silverstone, the final two sprint races take place at the Dutch Grand Prix in August and the Singapore Grand Prix in October.
