British hero gets revenge on ‘dirty little pool hoggers’ in early-morning raid

Tourists, wearing pyjamas and dressing gowns, turn up and put towels on the prime sunbathing spots.
They then, according to vigilante holidaymaker Rachael Rogers, ‘toddle off’ to the beach or shops, leaving the best sunbeds vacant.
She has now gone viral after posting a video of herself gleefully removing towels from at least eight sun-loungers with The Heavy’s ‘How Do You Like Me Now?’ playing in the background.
She said: ‘All week, the same people would bag their spot by the pool. So today, we decided to give them a little surprise and take them. All you at the Mediterranean Palace in Tenerife, yes, it was us.’
Her heroics at the Playa de las Americas resort were praised on TikTok with one calling her ‘my idol’ and another suggesting she should get a free holiday.
Rachael admits that she wasn’t expecting her video to get so many views – 2.7 million by this morning.
Explaining her actions, she said: ‘The reason I did it was because half an hour later those places wouldn’t have been available.
‘People would have been coming down and the ones who had come down in their pyjamas and dressing gowns and then toddled off to bed and left their towels down, are at the beach or walking round the shops by then enjoying themselves, having their lunch, having their breakfast.
‘They’re coming back around two in the afternoon and wanting those seats that they reserved at six in the morning. It’s not on, it’s not on.
Replying to @rie_rie74 This is the reason why we did it. I might be the problem in your eyes but if the selfish people didn’t hog them there wouldn’t be a problem. #sunlounger #pool #over60 #tenerife #havingfun
‘I know there were a lot of seats available when I acted, because it was early, we got up early, and I just thought as they were putting them down, we’d take them off.
