Carrow Road bridge to close to traffic in Norwich

Traffic will be diverted around the inner ring road when a major bridge in Norwich is closed for maintenance.

Wooden deck panels are being replaced in the centre of the Carrow Road bridge, which spans the river Wensum near Norwich City Football Club.

Norfolk County Council said the work will be carried out from 14 June to 15 July.

The bridge will be closed to pedestrians throughout and to traffic on 19 and 20 June.

Other elements of the work will affect river traffic, which should approach the bridge with care and take note of advisory signs, the council said.
