Cash in transit driver assaulted in Donaghadee robbery

A cash in transit van has been robbed in Donaghadee, County Down.

A member of staff had just made a collection from a local convenience store on High Street, shortly after 1230 BST when he was approached by a masked man.

He assaulted the driver before getting into an old style red coloured Vauxhall Astra car.

It is believed the cash box was taken. The driver received bruising to his face and was left shaken by his ordeal.
