Cash machine advertiser i-design has won its first contract in the US with ATM operators Cardtronics.

The deal covers about 3,000 cash machines, with 2,000 in US shopping centres and the rest in the UK.

I-design will install its software, atmAd, in the machines and sell the advertising space.

The Fife company was founded in 1991 and its clients include many of the major banks, such as RBS and Barclays.

The contract will take the number of i-design's cash machines which are available to carry adverts to 8,600 in total.

Ana Stewart, chief executive of i-design, said: "This is a significant new contract win for i-design; it both establishes our presence in the US marketplace, the world's largest, and validates the flexibility and scope of our platform independent solution atmAd."
