Two charities are marking the 10th year of an annual swimming challenge with new elements added.

The National Trust for Jersey and Jersey Hospice Care said its 30 Bays Summer Challenge, previously known as 30 Bays in 30 Days, would now also include a 'tide and seek' scavenger hunt - finding hidden symbols on the signs at each beach.

Last year the charities extended the challenge by one month to give more people the opportunity to complete it.

Liana Summers-Shaw from Jersey's National Trust said anyone could take part and encouraged islanders to enjoy the wellbeing and physical benefits of the challenge.

She said: "30 bays is all about appreciating Jersey's beautiful coastline and enjoying nature.

"If you like a fast-paced challenge, you could swim at every bay within 30 days as per the original 30 bays or take a more leisurely pace over the two-month event window.

"You can also just visit the bays for tide and seek, take a photo, or simply enjoy a mindful moment."

The charities said the opening swim event will be held on Sunday at 10:00 BST at Greve de Lecq.

Marina Brockbank from Jersey Hospice said the event was one of many that were "vital in helping both charities continue providing specialist services which can benefit the whole island".

She said: "Every person who takes part is not only enriching their own wellbeing but also making a real difference to our two amazing charities.

"It's a wonderful way to come together, enjoy Jersey's coastline, and support causes that touch so many lives."
