A DEUTSCHE Bank stockbroker killed himself by leaping from the roof terrace of Coq d’Argent restaurant on Sunday, two years after another City worker died in a similar incident at the restaurant.

Anjool Malde was said to have feared for his job after being told to leave work early on Friday due to an inquiry into an IT matter.

The 24-year-old, known as “Jools”, also founded AlphaParties, an events firm aimed at young professionals.

Colleagues left tributes to the popular party-organiser via a group on social networking site Facebook.

“Anjool was destined for greatness,” said one. “He was a firebrand, a gentleman and possessed the greatest of gifts – a civic responsibility. He will be greatly missed.”

Deutsche Bank confirmed Malde had been asked to leave work at 3pm on Friday but said explicitly he had not been suspended.

“We are deeply saddened by our colleague’s death, and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this time,” the bank said in a statement.

Malde, a keen guitarist and singer, was also devastated by the death of his idol Michael Jackson. “I spent 24 hours perpetually teary-eyed upon hearing about the death of someone I’d never even met,” he wrote in a poignant tribute to the singer just 11 days ago.

In 2007, another City worker died after falling from Coq d’Argent’s roof terrace onto the roof of a London bus.
