A date has been set for the trial of a Scottish couple who face charges of assault at former Jersey children's home Haute de la Garenne.

Morag Jordan, 62 from Kirriemuir, Angus, is accused of 35 charges of common assault while her husband, Anthony Jordan faces 14 counts.

The couple, who denied the charges, remain on conditional bail and must stay at their home address.

The trial will be held at Jersey's Royal Court on 15 November.

The court had heard that the allegations centre on events between 1970 and 1984.

An investigation into alleged abuse at the children's home started three years ago.
