David Beckham stops Wimbledon Royal Box guest to make request at Sinner match
Sir David Beckham couldn't resist the chance to get a selfie with Dame Mary Berry in the Wimbledon Royal Box. The England football legend was one of several famous faces with the best seat in the house for Jannik Sinner's opening Wimbledon match.
Looking dapper as ever in a sleek grey suit, Beckham was seen requesting a photo with the TV chef, famous for her role as a beloved judge on The Great British Bake Off.

The 51-year-old first stood up to grab a picture of himself with his mother, Sandra, before requesting a group picture with Berry and Deborah Jevans, the chair of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club.
Beckham, who is a regular attendee on the first day of Wimbledon and was sitting in the very front row of the Royal Box, was not the only familiar face in attendance to watch defending champion Sinner in action against Serbia's Miomir Kecmanovic.
Alexander Armstrong, the TV star and host of BBC show Pointless, Mark Rylance, and Katherine Jenkins were sat in the row behind.
The Beckhams' invite to sit in the VIP seats wasn't extended to David's son Romeo, though the tennis superfan was spotted at SW19 with his girlfriend Kim Turnbull.
Celebrities from all fields are spotted in the prestigious box every year, but being a high-profile figure does not guarantee a seat. Guests must be invited by the former champion and chair, Jevans, who takes into account suggestions from the AELTC's management committee, the Lawn Tennis Association, and other tennis bodies and prominent figures.
Wimbledon 2026 is just around the corner and Seat Unique has tickets on sale now with VIP access.
A Royal Box invite also comes with plenty of rules to adhere to, including a strict dress code, with Lewis Hamilton famously falling foul of this back in 2015, when he was subsequently turned away from taking up a seat in the box.
Meanwhile, after grabbing his picture with Mary, Beckham and the rest of Centre Court welcomed Sinner with a racuous reception as he made his way out. The Italian is the firm favourite this year with Carlos Alcaraz out due to a wrist injury but the French Open was a solemn reminder that Grand Slams are never a formality.
Sinner went out in a shock second-round loss at Roland Garros after suffering fitness issues. Last week, he said his team had come to a 'very good' conclusion to determine what happened to allay any fitness concerns for Wimbledon.
Speaking ahead of his match with Kecmanovic, he said: "It’s the best place where you can be as a professional tennis player. I have a chance to show again that I am capable of doing it. If I do, amazing. If not, I tried my best. It’s unnecessary to lose energy [on] this.”
