Potential purchasers of a Scottish Borders knitwear firm have less than a week to declare their interest.

Peter Scott & Co in Hawick went into administration last month and the majority of its 140 staff have been made redundant.

However, there are still hopes it can be sold as a going concern - and a deadline has been set.

Interested buyers have until 14 June to contact administrators KPMG.

Local MP, and Secretary of State for Scotland, Michael Moore has been continuing his discussions with the administrators.

"It is clear that the administrators are working hard to find a buyer and I am encouraged by the early interest of investors," he said.

"I hope that this interest results in formal and viable bids for the company by next week's deadline."

He added that he would continue to work to ensure all the workers affected were given as much support as possible.
