Duchess Meghan Is Reportedly Set to Return to Acting

Duchess Meghan is making her return to the screen. Only a couple of days after it was revealed that the Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, will be relocating to the United Kingdom for an extended period of time, People reports that this move aligns with a new acting project for Meghan. However, details still remain under wraps, and spokespersons for the couple have yet to comment.

On an episode of BBC Radio Four’s Today, royal correspondent Bronte Coy said: “I’m told it’s significant, and she’s very excited about it.” Coy added that the project is “top secret,” and more details will arrive “relatively soon.”

This will mark Meghan’s first major scripted role since she left the procedural drama Suits back in 2018. On that series, she played main character Rachel Zane for seven seasons, but she left shortly before marrying Prince Harry.

Since then, the duchess’s most notable on-screen gig was for her Netflix reality series With Love, Meghan, which lasted for two seasons and a holiday special, and recently earned Meghan her first Emmy Award nomination.

The lifestyle show was part of ongoing deal that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex maintained with Netflix, which also resulted in their documentary series Harry & Meghan, as well as other docuseries like Polo, Heart of Invictus, and Live to Lead.

Otherwise, in the past year, Meghan has made a few cameos as herself in shows like MasterChef Australia and the film Close Personal Friends.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to arrive in the U.K. with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, by the end of August.
