The Duchess of York has returned to the UK following newspaper claims she offered to sell access to ex-husband Prince Andrew.

Sarah Ferguson had been in the US during the fallout from a News of the World sting which appeared to show her offering to sell access to the Duke of York for £500,000.

Her flight from Los Angeles landed at Heathrow Airport just after 1130 BST.

On Friday she recorded a public apology on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

The 10-minute interview with the chat show host, filmed in Los Angeles, will be broadcast on Tuesday.

The former royal has thrived in the US where she has been able to establish a range of business interests before her recent money worries.

The duchess has remained good friends with Prince Andrew despite divorcing.

Their daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, are both university students.
