Eco education centre plan for Rackheath backed

A new £600,000 eco education centre near Norwich has been backed by councillors.

The building at Rackheath Industrial Estate, Rackheath, will help support environmental projects for primary and secondary school pupils.

The centre will be built using sustainable materials and ecological construction methods.

The proposals were approved by Broadland District Council's cabinet committee.

The building will include two training rooms, an eco-tech laboratory and a healthy living food technology room.

Rackheath is also the site of one of the proposed new so-called eco towns - planned by the last government to provide sustainable communities with the aim of protecting the environment.
