DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) got word that Kim Tate (Claire King) was away in Emmerdale today, which gave her the opportunity to break into Home Farm.

It was confirmed this week that new copper Thea has been getting pal Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) to snoop at Kim’s abode. Thea wants to find something to destroy Kim, believing that she’s the ‘devil’.

While Thea is solely focused on her plan, Serena has made it clear that she isn’t prepared to drop everything for her all of the time. In today’s episode, Thea revealed to Serena that Kim wasn’t in town, and wanted her to go back to Home Farm.

Unlike Thea, Serena wants to build a life in the Emmerdale village, which meant she told her friend that she couldn’t help, due to working all day at the pub.

As Thea made her way up to Home Farm, the residents of the big house had left to begin a clay pigeon shooting event. It was a big surprise created by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), who wanted a joint stag and hen do party with Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).

Invited to the afternoon was Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick), but she was forced to head back to Home Farm due to needing the loo.

When Lydia arrived, she found Ramsden in the house. She told Lydia that she was investigating Dr Caitlin Todd’s (Caroline Harker) death, and wanted to speak to people within a five mile radius of where the surgeon died.

Ramsden also made a comment about how she intends to check that the estate’s gun licences are up to date.

Lydia called Joe’s phone to inform him of the visitor, but he didn’t answer. Fortunately, Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) did.

When he arrived, Graham immediately sensed that something was amiss. He made a comment about how checking gun licences isn’t something a detective sergeant would usually do, and Thea had an expression on her face that suggested she knew she had a fight on her hands.

Can Thea talk her way out of this and convince Graham that she really is just at Home Farm as part of Dr Todd’s case?

He’s a former SAS officer, after all, which means DS Ramsden is going to have to tell a very good lie to leave Graham certain that she isn’t up to something else…
