England fans flocked to Manchester's Castlefield Arena for the team's opening match against the USA.

Fans queued through the day to pick up free tickets booked online and to claim the remaining few still available.

Three big screens, an artificial beach, and bars and refreshments are among the facilities inside.

The venue has been in the planning for 12 months with ticket allocations managed online and limited to four per household.

Greater Manchester based USA fan, Craig Adamoli, who was one of those attending the screening, said: "My wife and family are English and this is one of the biggest things that could happen.

"I wanted to get out of the house and be part of it."
