Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have embraced a private life in California after stepping down from their official royal duties.

Harry and Meghan, who got married in 2018, relocated from the Duke of Sussex’s native England to the Golden State in 2020, two years after their famous nuptials. After a brief stay at friend Tyler Perry’s sprawling Los Angeles pad, the royal couple settled in Montecito with kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

As Harry and Meghan launched new careers on their own, the former Suits actress set her sights on the lifestyle space, starting with her As Ever product line and Netflix’s With Love, Meghan docuseries. She, however, opted against filming the DIY content in her own home.

“I wanted to protect that safe haven,” Meghan told People in a 2025 interview. “We’re a close-knit family, and I love those moments — putting Lili down for a nap, having lunch together, having sacred time together at the end of the day. Our kitchen is where Mama just cooks for the family, and with a crew of 80-plus people, that’s a lot of people to have in your house.”

The next year, multiple outlets including The New York Times and CNN, reported that Harry and Meghan planned to move back across the pond in time for their kids’ school year but will retain their Montecito pad.

Meghan admittedly spends plenty of time cooking in her kitchen, using a center island with a rack for pots and pans hanging above.

In an Instagram post shared on 2025 Mother’s Day, Meghan cuddled Archie and Lili on an upper-level balcony.

Another pair of French doors leads visitors from the living room out to the backyard.

As revealed in Netflix’s Harry and Meghan, the couple shares an office that features two desks sitting in front of a white brick fireplace.

Harry, Meghan and their kids can watch TV and movies in style.

Meghan shared a video of dog Mia snoozing on a beige, fleece armchair via her Instagram Stories in September 2025.

Lili sat at Meghan's feet as she tried on a lilac trenchcoat in her closet in May 2026.

A sprawling table set with wicker armchairs looks out onto the backyard greenery.

Harry carried one of his children up the outdoor steps in footage shared in 2022’s Harry and Meghan.

The family’s backyard also features a space for Meghan and her mini-me daughter, Lili, to pursue beekeeping hobbies.
