Independent Climatologist, Darren Ray says those conditions could be normal for South Australia by 2050. "Even if all emissions stop now we're in for another 20, 30 years of increasing temperatures".
Speaking with Deb Tribe and Jon Lamb, Ray said, "What we see as extreme now becomes the new normal over that 20, 30-year time frame".
Extreme heat across the northern hemisphere has fuelled intense wildfires, inlcuding on the island of Rhodes, Greece.
