Two memorial services have been held after a pregnant woman and her young son were fatally stabbed at a Derbyshire house.

Rachael Slack, 38, and 23-month-old Auden died from knife wounds after the incident in Holbrook, near Belper, on Wednesday.

Auden's father, 44-year-old Andrew Cairns, from Ripley, was also found dead from knife injuries at the house.

The services were held at St Michael's Church at 1030 and 1830 BST on Sunday.

Ms Slack's son was taken to hospital after the incident but later died.

Derbyshire Police have said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has confirmed it will investigate police contact with Mr Cairns a week before the deaths.

It has emerged that he had been a mental health patient in Derbyshire for about a year.

Derbyshire Mental Health Services NHS Trust said it had begun an internal investigation "looking at the circumstances surrounding his contact with the organisation".

Friends of Ms Slack said Mr Cairns had been making threats in the weeks before the killings.

They added that she had gone to live in Spain with Mr Cairns, but had returned and struck up a new relationship.
