Founded 13 years ago to explore the vocal art of the Middle Ages, the French group Ensemble Organum (OHR-gah-noom) is now on tour with a program of works by 14th-century composer Guillaume de Machaut. PT early music commentator Thomas Kelly talks about Machaut's brilliant "Messe de No(s)tre Dame," which uses Gregorian chant as its foundation and is considered the first truly artistic setting of the mass.
