Four charged over Cottingham hotel robbery

Four youths have been charged after a robbery at a hotel in East Yorkshire.

Part of Lazaats Hotel in Cottingham was set on fire and cash was taken in the incident in the early hours of 1 June.

A 17-year-old Brough boy was remanded in custody after being charged with offences including aggravated burglary and false imprisonment on Friday.

Three others, two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old, were arrested over the weekend and appeared at Beverley Magistrates' Court on Monday.

All four have been charged with aggravated burglary, false imprisonment and possession of offensive weapons.

The youth who was arrested on Friday has also been charged with robbery and possession of a controlled drug.

A fifth youth, a 17-year-old boy, was arrested in connection with the incident on Sunday and was due to appear at Beverley Magistrates' Court on Tuesday morning.
