GB News cements position as Britain's number one news channel
GB News has once again outperformed its rivals and cemented its position as Britain’s number one new channel.
Official BARB data reveals GB News secured 86,570 average views in June, that's 17 per cent ahead of the BBC News Channel, who recorded 73,677. It also represents a massive 25 per cent lead over Sky News, who were trailing a distant third on just 68,983 average views.
The ratings success came amid a dramatic month for news, marked by the resignation of Keir Starmer, Andy Burnham's by-election victory in Makerfield and the nationwide shock which followed the release of police body-cam footage capturing Henry Nowak's dying moments.
The success comes just two weeks after GB News Breakfast retained the Best News Programme title at the TRIC Awards for a fourth consecutive year, beating BBC Breakfast, Good Morning Britain and ITV Evening News in a public vote.
Commenting, GB News' Head of Programming Ben Briscoe, said: "These latest figures confirm GB News as Britain's number one news channel.
"June was one of the most significant months in UK politics for years, and viewers turned to the People's Channel for breaking news, robust debate and sharp analysis of the stories shaping the nation.
"The continued growth of GB News reflects our commitment to putting viewers first. While other broadcasters continue to lose audience share, more people are choosing GB News because we focus on the issues that matter most to communities across the United Kingdom."
