Linda checks in with Melissa Erskine (UR-skin) who man's the Hay Hotline at the Montana Department of Agriculture. It's a hotline wich farmers use to buy and sell hay throughout the year... a sort of hay database. Many farmers are concerned about the potential for a severe shortage of hay in Montana due to the amount of snow thus far and a very dry summer. Phone calls to the hotline have increased from 5 a day to 20. But Ms. Erskine says a hay panic has not ensued.
