The countdown is on to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding day. Nearly two years after the couple made their first public appearance together—with countless nights out for dinner in New York City, Swift’s gargantuan Eras Tour, and Kansas City Chiefs games in between—they announced their engagement in August 2025.

And across the almost-year since, speculation has been swirling. What designer (or designers) will Taylor choose to wear? What might a wedding at Madison Square Garden actually look like? Who is invited to the big day? Swift—known for dropping hints and Easter eggs into her outfits, videos, and performances—has remained tight-lipped through it all. But according to reports, it looks like we’ll get all those answers this holiday weekend.

The last week has seen frenzy spill over for what will be an era-defining, royal-level wedding. Paparazzi are posted up outside MSG snapping photos of workers ripping up carpets and delivering drapery. Online prediction market Kalshi has reported that the forthcoming wedding has generated more than $4.5 million in wagers.

While rumors continue to mount and the bets get made, here’s everything we know so far about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding.

A report by TMZ last month suggested that Swift and Kelce “bailed” on their long-rumored Rhode Island ceremony “after word got out about the venue.”

Last week, it was reported by the New York Times that permits had been requested for a large-scale event at the 22,000-capacity Madison Square Garden for early July, which will allow for the shutting down of the surrounding Manhattan area. Roads will be closed around the venue from July 2 to 4.

It’s looking more and more likely that the pop star and NFL athlete will tie the knot this Independence Day weekend—on either July 3 or July 4—at New York’s MSG, making it a multi-day affair.

New York mayor Zohran Mamdani fueled the rumors at a June 30 press conference. “My recommendation to all New Yorkers is to stay inside and stay cool,” Mamdani said when asked about the rumored wedding and street closures. “And if you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool.”

Ahead of the wedding, paparazzi photos have captured a delivery of boxes labeled “Garden Party,” and workers rolling out (then removing) carpet on the entrance steps, and draping fabric hanging from the ceiling. There have also been reports of a huge castle built inside for the wedding.

Swift would not be the first person to hold their wedding at the renowned arena—Sly Stone married Kathy Silva in front of an audience of 23,000 on June 5, 1974. Swift has also performed there eight times across the last two decades.

There still remains a contingent of fans and speculators who believe this all to be an elaborate ruse. Several outlets have reported that the couple may marry in a smaller, more intimate ceremony prior to the MSG celebrations.

Yesterday, CBS News reported that the couple will hold a rehearsal dinner for about 100 people at the Infosys Theater within the arena on July 2. Guests will arrive underground, taking a cloistered entranceway.

Page Six cited sources who revealed the weekend’s full running order—and the schedule is packed. Following the rehearsal dinner on Thursday, July 2, doors for guests will open on Friday at 3:30 p.m., with a cocktail hour beginning at 4 p.m. on the 6th-floor concourse. The nuptials will then start at 5:30 p.m. on the MSG arena floor on July 3. The reception will take place at 6:30 p.m. with a 2:00 a.m. end-time.

There are also reports that Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw will perform. One of Swift’s breakout chart hits, aged just 16-years-old, was her song “Tim McGraw,” while more recently, she wore a “Stevie Knicks” shirt to the NBA finals on June 10, custom-made by her friend Alana Haim.

Over 1,000 guests are expected on the Friday. According to NBC News, guests received NDAs to sign along with their invitations. (Also, reportedly, uniquely watermarked to deter leaks.) There is also a reported no phones policy.

Rumored guests like Jack Antonoff and Antoni Porowski have deployed some deft question-dodging, but Suki Waterhouse recently revealed that she will attend.

Aside from the obvious being Swift and Kelce’s families, we can be sure to expect some of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates (like Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, for whom Kelce served as a groomsman) there on the day. There’s also the Swiftian girl gang: Selena Gomez, Swift’s childhood friend Abigail Anderson Berard, Gigi Hadid, Ashley Avignone, the Haim sisters, Zoë Kravitz, Emma Stone, Sabrina Carpenter, and Gracie Abrams. Speculation surrounds whether some of the former squad members—namely, Blake Lively and Karlie Kloss, where either tension or distance has been perceived—will make an appearance.

“I’m so excited about it. I know it’s gonna be fun to plan. Because I think the only stressful weddings are ones where you have a small amount, and people are on the bubble,” Swift said during an appearance on Graham Norton’s British talk show. “And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them, to see if they should be there. I’m not gonna do that.”

She joked that “anyone I’ve ever talked to” will be invited.

It’s probably right to assume that Taylor will have multiple outfit changes—just like Dua Lipa did recently across her own starry Sicily-set three-day affair—throughout the weekend. We know she loves a corset and a princessy dress, and has established a love of feminine designs from the likes of Stella McCartney and Givenchy. She’s also partial to pieces by Vivienne Westwood, whose wedding dresses have captured the hearts of fellow celebrity brides Charli xcx and Demi Lovato. Check what we hope Swift might wear here.

Stay tuned into the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding extravaganza across all of Independence Day weekend.
