Honor releases Magic V6 in UK, with its 'largest ever battery' and ultra slim design
HONOR has just launched its latest foldable smartphone in the UK — the Magic V6.
It's the successor to last year's Magic V5 and comes packed with Honor's largest ever foldable battery, a thinner design, and even higher durability.
Roger Li, CEO of Honor UK said: “The industry needs the courage to evolve. Foldable users should never have to compromise between design, reliability, and performance. With the HONOR Magic V6, we focused on what truly matters: a natural form factor, trustworthy durability, and seamless cross-ecosystem productivity."
Here's how Honor's newest mobile stacks up against its predecessor.
HONOR's new Magic V6 foldable has arrived in the UK for £200 less than its predecessor. It packs the biggest battery ever in a foldable, a faster Snapdragon processor, improved durability, and a slimmer design. Its Apple-friendly feature allows it to connect seamlessly with iPhones and Macs, while upgraded Google Gemini AI adds smarter tools. If you're one of the early shoppers, you'll also be treated to £549 worth of free gifts — including an Honor Pad and screen protectors.
When it comes to how these phones feel in your hand, the differences are subtle but noticeable.
The Magic V6 measures just 8.75mm when folded, shaving a tiny bit off the V5's 8.8mm thickness. It's not a massive change, but every fraction counts when you're slipping a foldable into your pocket or a smaller handbag.
When folding the device Honor says: "Featuring aerospace-grade precision and a 2800 MPa steel shielded structure, this resilient hinge has passed a rigorous 500,000-fold test, ensuring elite durability to survive everyday drops."
Weight-wise, the V6 tips the scales at around 219 grams, while its predecessor came in slightly lighter at 217 grams.
That extra couple of grams comes down to the beefier battery inside the newer model.
One thing you might also notice is the less prominent camera bump on the V6, giving it a sleeker look overall.
It features a 50MP ultra-light-sensitive main Camera, a 64MP ultra-sensing periscope telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.
The new handset packs what Honor says is the largest battery ever fitted inside a foldable phone, runs on a more powerful processor, and even plays nicely with Apple devices.
Honor has squeezed a massive 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery into the V6, which is their biggest power pack ever fitted inside a foldable smartphone.
Despite its larger size, though, both devices promise around 24 hours of use.
Charging speeds remain similar, with 80-watt wired and 66-watt wireless options on the newer model.
In terms of durability, the Magic V6 has also seen an upgrade. The Magic V6 boasts IP68 and IP69 certification, meaning it can handle water, dust, and even high-pressure sprays.
That's a big jump from the V5's IP58 and IP59 rating, which offered more basic water resistance.
For anyone worried about dropping their expensive foldable in the pool this summer, the V6 might be the safer bet.
Under the bonnet, the V6 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor built on a 3nm process, which is a step up from the V5's Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This means faster response time on the device and buttery smooth scrolling across apps.
Both phones also come loaded with Google Gemini integration, letting you interact through text, voice, or images. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant handles calendar updates, meeting summaries, and can even translate up to seven languages in real time during calls.
What's new on the V6 is Gemini Live, which lets you share your camera or screen during conversations to ask about anything you're viewing.
Like Honor's other mobiles, the Magic V6 is also meant to connect seamlessly with Apple devices. Dubbed Honor Connect, it links Honor-built smartphones with Apple and Windows devices, enabling fast, high-quality file, and screen sharing without using mobile data, just like you'd find with Apple AirDrop.
You can also screen-share, connect your phone camera to other devices, and even connect to the same Wi-Fi networks as your Honor handset.
It's available in red, gold, white, and black through major retailers including Argos, Amazon, Very, and Currys.
