Inquiry after man found dead near Sheffield park

Police are investigating the death of a man in Sheffield.

Officers were alerted at 0645 BST on Sunday after the man was spotted by a passer-by near to the entrance of Herdings Park off Raeburn Road.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said he was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination is due to take place later.

The man's death is currently being treated as suspicious as a matter of routine, the spokesman added.
