Angelina Jolie may be preparing for a new chapter outside of Los Angeles after her divorce with Brad Pitt, but one major issue appears to be slowing down those plans the sale of her historic LA estate.The actress has previously spoken about wanting to spend more time in Cambodia once her children are older.
The actor has a dual citizenship of US and Combodia. With twins Knox and Vivienne turning 18 this month, Jolie will no longer face the same custody-related restrictions that kept her based in the US. However, her Los Feliz mansion remains on the market after being listed for nearly $29.85 million in May.According to property listings, the estate is still available for sale.
A source told the Daily Mail that Jolie expected the process to take time because of the slow luxury housing market in Los Angeles, but the delay has still been frustrating. “She wants to get away from Los Angeles and her memories there with her ex Brad Pitt. It’s time for a new phase in a new city with her children in tow,” the source said.The insider added that Jolie has been looking forward to the moment her youngest children become adults.
“As soon as they turn 18, she can leave the US with them,” the source said. “She would never leave even one of them behind.” The source also said that although Jolie can move even if the property does not sell immediately, she would prefer to close that chapter of her life before relocating. “However, she can go anywhere she wants, she has plenty of money.
Her heart belongs to Cambodia,” the source added.Spread across about 0.8 hectares, the estate includes a swimming pool, pool house, guesthouse, tea house and arched fountains. The home also features several living rooms, a library, a wood-panelled dining room and a farmhouse-style kitchen. Jolie bought the property in 2017 for around $25 million after separating from Pitt, who also owned a home nearby.
The actress first hinted at leaving Los Angeles during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2024. “I grew up in this town,” Jolie said. “I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave.” “When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety,” she added.Jolie also said she expected to spend significant time in Cambodia in the future while continuing to travel to visit family members around the world.
