Social networking sites Facebook and Twitter are being used in an appeal after a milkman was brutally attacked.

Bob Bullock, 62, of Brinklow, is in hospital, although he has now off a life-support machine, after being attacked outside his home on 25 April.

Officers are hoping site users will help them in their search for his three attackers.

A man, aged 23, from Coventry, has been arrested and bailed over the incident.

Police said Mr Bullock, who delivered milk in the Tile Hill area of Coventry, has lost sight in one eye.

He is thought to have disturbed the three men, all wearing balaclavas, near his van which was parked in Walkers Terrace. He was assaulted and the men drove off in a black Ford Focus towards Ansty. A hammer was found at the scene.

The car was later discovered abandoned and set alight near the Greyhound public house in Longford, Coventry.

Appeals can be viewed on Warwickshire Police's Facebook page and by joining the Warwickshire Police Authority's Twitter site.
