Investigation after body found in River Medway

Police have started an investigation after a body was found in the River Medway.

The body was pulled from the water at East Farleigh, near Maidstone, after it was discovered by a rower at about 0830 BST on Saturday.

Kent Police said they were looking into the circumstances surrounding the death but did not think it was suspicious at this stage.

The body was being examined by a forensic pathologist.
