FRIDAY’s Royal Ascot card kicks off with the Group Three Albany Stakes (2.30pm), with 25 two-year-old fillies going to post.

Whilst the ones at the top have leading chances, I fancy JOLIVETTE for Andrew Balding and Juddmonte.

She made a winning start at Newmarket, granted only by a neck, but she always looked in control that day and has a smashing pedigree.

By Wootton Bassett, she’s out of a Dubawi mare and just appeals as one that will step forward for that debut effort.

The Balding team had a big price go close in the Windsor Castle on Wednesday, and it would be no surprise to see her outrun likely handsome odds on the World Pool Win and Place markets.

SUN GODDESS is the one that heads the betting and it’s hard to deny her leading chance, so it’s worth playing a Quinella with the pair.

Just over an hour later is the fiercely competitive Duke of Edinburgh Stakes (3.40pm) on the round course over a mile-and-a-half.

Each of the three at the top of the betting, WARRANT HOLDER, OPPORTUNITY, and HOPEWELL ROCK each hold strong chances, and must be the bedrock of any kind of exotic bet.

One at a big price that is worth throwing in is Alan King’s INSANITY.

He’s a course and distance winner for a yard who are in good form, having already had a winner from minimal entries this week, and his recent run encouraged that his turn may be soon.

Staying on strongly from the rear, whilst he may not be the best handicapped, he’s a trier and will be a big price in the World Pool Win and Place markets, where he looks worth playing.
