A man who sexually assaulted two children, raping one girl aged seven, has been jailed for 12 years.

Robert Evans, 40, who lived in Norwich when the offences began, admitted 15 offences including rape, indecent assault and assault causing GBH.

Evans, now of Lytham St Anne's, Lancashire, raped one girl five or six times from the age of seven, Norwich Crown Court heard.

Evans was put on the sex offenders register.

He was also banned from ever working with children.

Det Con Peter Sayer, of the child abuse investigation unit, said after the case: "No sentence will ever be enough for the kind of sexual abuse he meted out."
