Japan fans are taking Monday’s 2-1 loss to Brazil to heart.

Just after Gabriel Martinelli nailed a goal during the 96-minute mark of the match, to lead Brazil past Japan in the knockout round, a Japan fan was hilariously seen screaming in agony after the loss.

As the broadcast camera was panning out of the fans after the game concluded, the Japanese fan was seen screaming and slamming what appeared to be a shirt in his hand.

The Japan fan was seen standing in a sea of Brazil fans around him, and the Brazil fans went ahead and started celebrating next to him, and started putting the Brazil flag on him. The Japanese fan paused for a moment, looking at the flag draped over him, and went back to screaming as his team had officially been knocked out of the World Cup.

With the victory on Monday, Brazil is now waiting to play the winner of Ivory Coast and Norway, which will take place on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. on FOX.

Japan’s elimination on Monday came after they took an early 1-0 lead from a Kaishu Sano goal at the 28-minute mark.

When the 55-minute mark came, Brazil tied the game with a header goal by Casemiro to tie the game at 1-1.

The two teams played each other tightly for the rest of the game, until Martinelli gave Brazil the late lead.

With the loss on Monday, it marks the first time Japan has lost during the knockout round of 32, as they advanced past the round twice over the last two World Cups in 2022 and 2018.
